On September 8, 2001, I flew to Beijing, China, with my parents, meeting up with my brother, Andrew (who'd been in Shanghai on business). For eight days we travelled in and around Beijing, Suzhou, and Shanghai as a family. My parents and brother returned to the United States, while I continued on to Hanoi, Vietnam. I spent five days exploring the Vietnamese capital and Ha Long Bay to the east. Three days in Hong Kong completed my trip.
